MOMENT OF ENCOUNTER DEVOTIONAL
Topic :Four Ways God Responds to the Needs of Men.
📖 Anchor Text
«"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." — Philippians 4:19 (KJV)»
Introduction
One of the funniest mistakes many believers make is assuming that God must always answer prayers the same way.
Some people pray for food, but when someone offers them a job, they reject it because they are expecting angels to drop bags of rice through the ceiling!
Others refuse to greet anyone because they are "waiting for divine visitation." My brother, if you refuse to greet your destiny helper, don't blame witches when your miracle passes by.
God has many delivery methods. Heaven has never suffered from a shortage of logistics.
Throughout Scripture, God supplied human needs through different channels. The source is always God, but the methods differ.
If you insist that God must answer only in the way you expect, you may reject the very miracle you have been praying for.
1. GOD RESPONDS THROUGH HUMAN HELPERS
God often sends people before He sends miracles.
Sometimes your breakthrough is not hiding in heaven; it is sitting in someone's heart.
Biblical Examples
- Joseph became the solution to Jacob's family during famine (Genesis 45:5–11).
- Boaz became God's answer to Ruth's poverty (Ruth 2).
- The Good Samaritan became God's help to the wounded traveller (Luke 10:30–37).
- Barnabas opened the door for Paul when everyone rejected him (Acts 9:26–27).
Human helpers are God's delivery agents.
Many prayers are answered through relationships.
Today's Possibility
- A recommendation letter.
- Someone paying your school fees.
- A business referral.
- A friend introducing you to your future spouse.
- A pastor mentoring you.
- A stranger opening an unexpected door.
Never despise people. God still uses men.
2. GOD RESPONDS THROUGH DIVINE PROVISION
Sometimes God bypasses every human system.
When there is no road, He creates one.
Biblical Examples
- Manna fell from heaven daily (Exodus 16).
- Water flowed from the rock (Exodus 17:6).
- Ravens fed Elijah morning and evening (1 Kings 17:4–6).
- The widow's oil refused to finish (2 Kings 4:1–7).
- Jesus multiplied five loaves and two fishes (John 6:1–13).
These miracles happened because human resources had reached their limits.
When men say, "It is impossible," God simply smiles.
Today's Possibility
God still surprises people.
Unexpected contracts.
Miraculous debt cancellation.
Unplanned financial favour.
Healing beyond medical explanation.
Scholarships you never applied for.
Doors that no human connection could have opened.
Never conclude that because nobody can help you, God cannot help you.
3. GOD RESPONDS THROUGH YOUR OWN HAND
This is the miracle many believers overlook.
God has already placed provision inside your hands.
Some pray for harvest while refusing to plant.
Prayer without diligence soon becomes religious laziness.
Biblical Examples
- Isaac sowed and reaped a hundredfold (Genesis 26:12).
- Peter caught fish after obeying Christ and working (Luke 5:4–7).
- Paul worked with his own hands as a tentmaker (Acts 18:3).
- Proverbs repeatedly teaches that diligent hands produce increase (Proverbs 10:4).
God blessed Adam before giving him work, but He also gave him work before giving him increase.
Today's Possibility
- Your profession.
- Your business.
- Your ministry.
- Your skill.
- Your education.
- Your creativity.
- Your digital knowledge.
Many people are praying for what God has already placed in their hands.
The miracle may be hiding inside your laptop, your sewing machine, your classroom, your farm, your workshop or your office.
Work is not a curse.
It is often God's warehouse of miracles.
4. GOD RESPONDS THROUGH THE HANDS OF YOUR ENEMIES
This is perhaps the most surprising method.
Sometimes those who dislike you become unwilling sponsors of your destiny.
God is so sovereign that He can make your enemies finance what they intended to fight.
Biblical Examples
- Israel left Egypt carrying Egyptian silver, gold and clothing (Exodus 12:35–36).
- Haman built the gallows but died on it, while Mordecai was promoted (Esther 7).
- Pharaoh's daughter raised the very Moses who would confront Pharaoh (Exodus 2:1–10).
- David repeatedly inherited the spoils of defeated enemies (1 Samuel 30:18–20).
The Bible calls it spoil.
Your enemies may resist you, but they cannot resist God forever.
Today's Possibility
- Wrongful dismissal leading to a better job.
- Court judgment ending in compensation.
- Competitors advertising your business by criticizing it.
- Those who mocked your vision later celebrating your success.
God has a way of collecting your blessings from the pockets of those who never intended to bless you.
Prophetic Insight
Beloved, never limit God to one method.
Some people reject human helpers because they are waiting for angels.
Others reject hard work because they want miracles.
Some reject miracles because they trust only human connections.
Others fear enemies without knowing that God can convert opposition into promotion.
The source of your supply is never man.
The source is God.
Men are only channels.
Jobs are only channels.
Miracles are channels.
Your own hands are channels.
Even your enemies can become reluctant channels.
Therefore, stop worshipping the channel and start trusting the Source.
God is too creative to become predictable.
Food for Thought
When God wants to bless you, He may send:
- A person.
- A miracle.
- An opportunity to work.
- Or even an enemy carrying your testimony without knowing it.
Do not miss your miracle because you are looking in only one direction.
Prayer for Today
Father, in the name of Jesus, open every channel You have ordained for my provision.
Lord, connect me with genuine destiny helpers.
Where human help is unavailable, let supernatural provision arise.
Bless the work of my hands and cause my labour to prosper.
Turn every opposition into promotion and every enemy into an instrument of my advancement.
Every blessing delayed by ignorance, pride or unbelief, let it be released today.
I receive divine wisdom to recognize every opportunity You send.
This week, I shall not miss my appointed helpers.
My labour shall be fruitful.
My wilderness shall experience manna.
My dry places shall produce water.
My ravens shall locate me.
My hands shall prosper.
Even those who planned against me shall unknowingly advance God's purpose for my life.
In Jesus' mighty name.
Amen.
Your Brother,
Prophet Dr. Abiodun Adesida
